Norman tries to piece together Mother’s movements; in Seattle, Dylan and Emma confront an ugly truth; Sam’s girlfriend, Marion, makes an impulsive decision with far-reaching consequences.
So we finally meet Marion Crane?
When I first learned about Bates Motel, I believe it was when I was watching Lost and I heard the one of the creators of Lost was going to make another version of Bates Motel. Basically turn it into a TV Series and have their own take on it.
Eventually, since this is the last season, we will need to be introduced to Marion Crane (Rihanna). If you have not seen the movie, you know she plays an important part. Basically her character in the movie is running away because she just got away with stealing a lot of money from her job and is on the run.
In this episode, we don’t have a lot of Norman in this episode. It is basically setting up for the two characters to cross paths which is probably in the next episode.
The creator of Bates Motel, has stated that the TV Show will be a different version then what the movie is. In this episode, we meet Marion who is revealed to be the person that Madeleine Loomis boyfriend is cheating on her with. If your watching this episode, you are suppose to probably feel sorry for her character but we are introduced to Madeleine Loomis character first and we can relate to her more. So when we learn about the mistress that her husband Sam Loomis (Austin Nichols) is cheating on with, I don’t feel for this character. In the movie version, I could relate to the Marion more. As a viewer, we know she is the woman that is cheating on Sam Loomis with and she steals a bunch of money from her job. How are we suppose to relate to this character? Are we suppose to feel bad for her?
As she is on the run, she gets pulled over by a cop (Carlton Cuse), who is actually the creator of the show. He also created Lost, which is another recommendation. The episode ends with Marion (Rihanna) driving in the rain and pulling up to Bates Motel which is where the movie, Psycho truly begins..
